Room 14 enjoyed their Swimming Sports in the sunshine on Friday 9 March

Swimming Sports by Sarah

Swimming Sports

Last Friday 9th of March it was Middle School Swimming Sports. When we entered in our group lines into the pool area I was very nervous, but when I looked in the crowd and saw my parents I felt not so nervous.

My first event was one length of freestyle and I came first equal with Axel. I was very proud of myself.

My second event was one length of backstroke and again I came first equal with Axel and I was feeling just great that I was doing so well in my swimming.

Finally, I had to do my last event which was breaststroke and I came first equal with Axel again!

When all the races had finished we all went back to class and we got changed and I was very proud and worn out that I had done so well.

On a scorching hot Friday it was Middle Schools Swimming Sports. I was nervous and excited at the same time. We lined up and a very long line was behind the A1 group (I was in A1).

My first event was freestyle. I came first and I was very proud of myself. I always am. Freestyle is my favourite.

My second event was backstroke. I came first equal with Brydie (she was in my team). I was proud again.

My third event was breaststroke. Brydie came first and Madison (who is also in my team) and I came second equal.

After Swimming Sports I was very tired and proud. My Nana (Nan) and my Dad were very proud too. I had a really good time. It was fun!

Mr Sinclair came to talk to us about building bridges and other structures. Breanne wrote this letter to him.

Dear Mr Sinclair

Thank you for teaching us all about bridges to help us understand that bridges are mainly these days made out of steel or concrete and need to last for one hundred years.

Thank you also for giving up your beautiful sunny morning to come in and teach us all your knowledge of bridges.

Now that I know more about bridges I have changed my mind on what I want to be when I grow up.  I was going to train to be a veterinarian but now I want to train to be a builder who builds bridges.  My Dad is a builder who builds houses and puts prices on houses.

Did you see me come first in my race in freestyle at the Swimming Sports?  In breaststroke I came second.  Sadly in backstroke I came last.

Kind regards
Breanne
