Olympics Day at Sunnyhills
Olympic day
On Friday, our school had an Olympic Day. It was exciting.
We played javlin. I made the stick out of straws and sellotape. It was really fun. I got the gold medal (actually I didn’t), and Mrs. Goodwin gave me two lollies for a prize.
Then we played The Three Legged race. I got a prize again. But I tripped over OOOOWWHH!
Now, Ms Small announced The Olympic Day is closed. “Awh……’’We sighed.
I had a wonderful Olympic Day!

On a sunny day it was Olympics Day for Sunnyhills School. When we arrived at school we had our funky clothes on with the colours of… red and white because Breanne and I were representing Austria with Mr. Whatman.
After we called the roll we went to Mr. Whatman’s room and called the roll there and then went to the Opening Ceremony and Miss Small dressed up as the queen…it was so funny.
First, we made Austria’s flag and we had a rotation for our banner. Mr. Whatman was painting faces and I asked for what he had around his eyes. He ruined my face majorly because he did blood drops.
Next it was time for morning tea.
After morning tea we went outside for a standing long jump and I got a silver medal and Breanne got the gold!
Then we went into the hall (on the stage) and played with a parachute. The game was called the Shark Game!!!!!!!!!!! So this is how the game worked…there were 2 lifeguards and there was a shark. The shark had to go under the parachute and tried to pull people under. If you get pulled under you become a shark and if you’re getting pulled under you have to put your hand up but you can’t make any noise because if it was in real life that is what you would do.
Next we went back to the classroom and did some Equestrian horse riding. The little kids got some cane horses to go on and the big kids like Breanne and I and the years 5 and 6 used invisible horses so pretty much didn’t even use horses AT ALL.
After that it was time for lunch and I played with Breanne we had a nice time together (well I think).
Then after lunch time we had to go to the Closing Ceremony and every country had to get their flags and their banner and walk around the hall and stand in front of everyone to sing their chant. Here is our chant:
Austria’s the best
We’re better than the rest
We’ve got a big grin
Because we’re gonna win
Who are we
Austria what are we going to do,

On Friday it was Sunnyhills Olympic day and I was representing Germany with Mr Tucker.
On Friday we were allowed to wear the colours of our country’s flag and since I was Germany I had to wear the colours: Red, yellow and black.
We were first in our normal classes to call the roll and then we went to our adopted countries to call the roll.
First, my Germany team tried to come up with a chant and we came up with:
Duichland, Duichland
Uber alles
Duichland, Duichland
United we stand!
We did try to find something that rhymes with Germany but nothing rhymes with Germany so we ended up with that.
Later on we played a fun game called balloon volleyball and my team was called the red team and my team won.
Next it was time to go to the opening ceremony and Ms Small dressed up as the Queen and said, “I now declare Sunnyhills Olympics open!” and then we left.
We practised our chant one more time and then it was morning tea.
The whole time in between morning tea and lunch I played games and some of the games we played were straw throwing, ball throwing, hockey golf and cup stacking.
At the end of the day we went to the Closing Ceremony and we walked around the whole hall in our country’s groups and showed off what we had done during the day. We showed what we looked like and then we stood in a line up the front and said our chant. Once every country had walked around the hall and said their chant Ms Small stood up on the stage (dressed in her Queen clothes) and said, “I now declare the Sunnyhills Olympics closed!”
After Ms Small had said that the Sunnyhills Olympics was closed everyone made a loud grunting noise and ooohhh man! And it was funny to hear.
Next we left and went back to our normal classrooms and then we went home.
I had a fun day.

Introduction…
On Friday it was SUNNYHILLS OLMPICS DAY!!!!!!!! We had to go to different classes I was chosen to go to go to Mrs. Strom (Mrs Fowler on the day) in room 9. I was representing Great Britain.
Opening Ceremony…
After that we went to the Opening Ceremony. Miss. Small (dressed up as the Queen) Said, “I Declare the Sunnyhills Games OPEN!!!!!!!”
What we did in our classrooms…
Next we went to our rooms. We went back to the class room. We got ready for the Closing Ceremony although it wasn’t time for the Closing Ceremony. We coloured in flags which we taped to ice cream sticks and made sashes to wear around our body and crowns. We also made shakers using tissue paper cut into strips taped at the top
Activities…
For the activities we did:
Suck the cotton balls with straws to the bucket at the front, blow the cotton balls back down the line to the back
Throwing water balloons over under over under with balloons
Indoors-blowing marbles to the bucket and the end of each table
Closing Ceremony…
In the closing Ceremony we wore our sashes and crowns and brought the shakers. We had to go last because we were the host country. We had to wait for all the other teams before it was our turn. When it was finally our turn our chant was:
“Go England!
We are blue, red and white
We can swim we can run
We can out do anyone
Go England!”
After that Miss. Small dress up as the Queen said “I Declare the Sunnyhills Olympics games Close After that we went back to our own class room and pack up and went home.
My Feelings about my day……..
I had a good day and my favourite game was plying the water balloon game.

Left foot, right foot
Back to my left foot
I see my friends
I catch them up
A teacher comes
Off we run!
We cross roads
We pass friends
Legs aching
Still heaps to go
Puffing, puffing, puffing
I’m nearly there
But I’m running out of breath
Finally the end is here!
